| Hook, Loop & Lock |
Do you enjoy the technique of rug hooking? Locker hooking is a unique craft similar to rug hooking. Loops of fabric, yarn or wool are pulled through the open weave of a standard latch hook canvas. The stitches are held in place by a string that is pulled through the loops. A special tool is used for both pulling loops through and pulling the locking yarn behind.
Locker hooking is a great technique to try since it is fun and can make terrific use of leftover fabrics. Use in combination with yarn and/or wool; the effect is artsy and unique. Locker hooking designers have begun to design not only traditional rugs, but have become very creative, designing pillows, lampshades and a variety of wearable items.
